Guillermo (Willy) Prado, PhD, presented his work at the NIMHD Director’s Seminar Series, which highlights prominent researchers who are advancing the science of minority health and health disparities. Dr. Prado serves as Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Miami, and he leads the CLaRO Investigator Development Core along with Dr. Mario De La Rosa.

Dr. Prado’s work focuses on the development, evaluation, and dissemination of parenting interventions for Hispanic youth and their families and has appeared in over 140 peer-reviewed articles and chapters. His talk (1) highlights existing health disparities among Hispanic/Latinx youth and (2) provides an overview of a Familias Unidas, a preventive intervention for Hispanic sexual minority youth and their families.
